DO YOU FEEL UNWELCOME HERE?

Hi there! I trust you had a fantastic week.

Is it just me or do you also feel the tension rising against immigrants recently? Canada used to be known as the country that ‘loves’ and welcomes immigrants with open arms but looks like that narrative is starting to shift.

With rising concerns about housing and career opportunities, anti-immigrant groups are constantly committing horrendous hate crimes. According to the latest figures from Statistics Canada, hate crimes reported by the police more than doubled from 2019 to 2023, with 44.5% of incidents in 2023 motivated by race or ethnicity.

Seeing how hate crimes have escalated from just a few grumps into full riots and protests in the UK, I would advise you to stay safe out there and watch your back. Bad Economy + Inflation + Housing Shortages + Increase in Unemployment? The maths is simple.

The people are looking for who to blame and sadly, we, the immigrants are the easy targets.

YOUR DENTAL CARE CAN BE CHEAPER BUT WHERE DO YOU LIVE?

Great news???

Nearly 75% of dentists are now accepting patients through the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), but participation rates depend on where you live.

For example, in the Maritimes, Nunavut, Yukon, and the Northwest Territories, fewer dentists are on board. In New Brunswick, only 40% of dentists accept patients through the CDCP, and it’s even lower in the three territories, where just 38% participate.

IT’S NOT YOU. IT’S ME?

ACTUALLY NO. IT’S YOUR C.V!

Finding a job anywhere is a full-time job. Now, finding a job as a new immigrant in Canada is a full-time job + multiple side hustles. Just imagine doing all that wrong.

If you’ve been winging it with your resume and portfolios, it’s time to stop ‘cos honestly, that approach is penny-wise, pound foolish.

What if I told you that you could increase your interview callback rate by a whopping 70% with this resource I found?
