To live your best life in Canada, you need to know where and how to get all the good stuff. And you know I’m always happy to share gems when I find them ; promise you’ll share with me when you find some too.
So, did you know the Canadian government is committed at all levels to helping you skill up and improve your job prospects?
If you didn’t know this, well now you know! Here’s how to cash in:
You can get paid to Learn ( Interesting…IKR!)
Each province offers grants and training programs for in-demand fields— and some cover up to $25K in costs! However, I think the level and impact of support varies by province. Visit your provincial website to know the list of programs that are covered.Leverage Grants & Tax Credits
The federal and provincial governments offer grants and tax credits to help job seekers upskill. T&Cs apply though. For example, Canada Training Credit (CTC), Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG), Tuition Tax CreditSign up on networking and mentorship platforms
A couple of government-funded programs connect job seekers with mentors and employers—or even help you start a business. The list of Canada Job Training Initiatives is a great place to start.
PS: It doesn’t matter if you just finished grad school, in mid-level roles, transitioning or even an executive. Go for it!
