IS MAKING FRIENDS IN CANADA ALL THAT DIFFICULT?

Everybody says Canadians are “nice,” but for me, the entire polite culture felt cold and distant at first.

The truth is, people here want connection just as much as you do but they're just not always first to make a move.

Your social capital starts with showing up: joining community events, volunteering, and saying yes more often (DYR). Ultimately, you want to be the friend you needed when you first landed.

It feels harder to make friends here because hello? New culture? New People?

But I like to think it’s absolutely possible and even beautiful at the end of the day.
