TAX HOLIDAY SEASON IS HERE !!!

If you love to shop for the holidays, you might will find this exciting.

Starting from Dec 14 2024 to Feb 15 2024, Canada will be giving holiday shoppers a break from TAXES! I hear some folks saying the savings are small but — blame it on my African roots — I believe every dollar counts and it’s better in your pocket than in taxes!

This is your chance to save on essentials like food, kids’ items, books, and even holiday decorations. Just imagine all the major deals you could snag if you leverage these tax breaks on Boxing Day sales.

According to a NerdWallet survey, Canadians plan to spend an average of $698 on gifts this year. That could mean savings of up to $35 in GST or up to $91 in HST, depending on where you shop.

If you’re curious (like me) about what’s covered, click here to see the full list of eligible items.

“Someone said we could go take pictures with the officers. For me that was a big surprise, because in some parts of Africa, you can’t really interact with the police like that. From that moment, I thought, ‘I really want to be a part of these guys!’”

Fredrick Mubiru fled Uganda as a refugee and became Canada’s first Ugandan-Canadian Mountie after graduating top of his class.

From taking pictures with RCMP officers as a newcomer to rebuilding trust with entire communities, his journey proves no dream is too big.
