IS A MASTERS DEGREE WORTH IT?

This is not new. Lots of new immigrants believe that getting a Master's degree can help boost their career prospects. Now, while this can be a valuable investment, it’s important that you wiegh the pros and connszzzzzz…

Don’t just get a Masters Degree, think about:

  • The University’s Prestige: A prestigious university can open doors to some fantastic networking and career opportunities — if you leverage it right.

  • Cultural Immersion: You want to study in a University that can help you gain insights into local business practices, and potentially accelerate your cultural adaptation.

Also, you want to ask yourself these questions:

  • Does a Master's degree truly align with your career goals? While it may be useful for some roles in larger organizations, startups are more crazy about like certification and hands-on skills.

  • Is the income associated with that Master's degree worth the time and money? Do your research to ensure you’re making a financially viable decision.

  • Are you looking to acquire specific technical skills? You might want to consider certifications or shorter-term programs that may be more cost-effective and time-efficient.

If you're an international student and you’d like to bag a Canadian Masters Degree, you can find some great funding opportunites here.

PS:I don’t know why but I’m Super excited about Christmas this year. Are you?
