🛠️ Jobs This Week

We've compiled the latest job opportunities for you.

🔎 Market Pulse

  • Most openings this week: Tech, Healthcare, Finance, and Public Service.

  • Hot provinces: British Columbia and Alberta lead in vacancy rates, with Ontario a close third.

  • Hiring tip: Tailor your resume to match job descriptions and include key phrases; Canadian application systems heavily rely on keywords first.

🍁 Good News for International Students in Canada!

If you've been worried about recent changes to Canada’s Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), you can breathe easy, for now. Canada has pushed the enforcement of new PGWP rules to early 2026, giving many diploma and certificate programs extended eligibility.

What this means for you:

  • If your program was at risk of losing eligibility, you now have extra time to qualify.

  • 1,107 programs remain PGWP-eligible, up from the previous 920, which means more chances to stay, work, and possibly secure permanent residency.

  • Students who applied between June 25 and July 4, 2025, still qualify under the older, more favorable conditions.

The takeaway? This buys you a little breathing room to plan your future in Canada without rushing your next move.

💳 Let’s Talk Credit: Building Yours the Smart Way

Good credit impacts more than just banking; it affects your ability to rent homes, buy cars, and can even influence some job opportunities. Still figuring out this whole "credit" thing? You’re not alone. Building good credit takes some effort, but it doesn't have to be confusing.

Here’s your quick action plan:

  •  Pay bills on time, every time: This is the single best thing you can do.

  •  Keep credit usage low: Aim to use less than 30% of your available credit.

  •  Hold onto your oldest credit cards: Longer credit history boosts your reliability score.

  •  Don’t apply for multiple cards too quickly: Each new application can temporarily lower your credit score.

Pro-tip: Scotiabank’s StartRight® Program lets you apply for credit without any previous Canadian history, even using your foreign credit report to get a higher limit. It’s an easy way to jumpstart your financial life here.
